Fiddler's Green, a Fisherman's Wharf institution for nearly a quarter of a century, threw its fans for a loop when owner Birute Cassidy announced in October that the bar would close on Halloween. A pair of family-run gourmet ice cream sandwich shops called the Baked Bear are slated to open at Fisherman's Wharf and in North Beach in 2016, featuring local ingredients and everything made from scratch.
