San Francisco has—and always will be—a city that has the power to change the world. This year, as a part of San Francisco Travel and the California Historical Society's "Summer of Love" campaign, Fisherman's Wharf will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love, the movement of art, music and politics that ushered in the hippie era and its defining counter-culture.
The Fisherman's Wharf district will be decked out with tie dye street art and many businesses in the area are offering special events and discounts that celebrate the throwback counter-culture of the 1960's era.
Below is an assortment of Summer of Love themed activities, exhibitions, tours, deals, and year-round activities.
