MerryTime at the Wharf

It's the most wonderful time of the year - MerryTime at the Wharf! This year, even the famous Fisherman's Wharf crab wheel gets dressed up in a holiday sweater. We're planning an ugly sweater holiday pub crawl, having the annual Lighted Boat Parade on December 16, and, once again, PIER 39 and Ghirardelli Square unveil their beautifully decorated trees.

SHARE THE WARMTH COAT DRIVE FOR SAN FRANCISCO'S HOMELESS

The Fisherman’s Wharf Community Benefit District is partnering with Project Homeless Connect to share the warmth this holiday season. Throughout the month of December, 2016, the neighborhood will be collecting coats to donate to the homeless population of San Francisco. To help promote this campaign, the iconic Fisherman’s Wharf crab wheel sign and trees in the district will be dressed up in ugly “yarn bomb” holiday sweaters all month long.

2016 LIGHTED BOAT PARADE
Date: Friday, December 16, 2016
Time: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The Fisherman's Wharf Community Benefit District and the St. Francis Yacht Club will join once again to present the oldest and largest lighted holiday boat parade on San Francisco Bay. Boats festooned with lights and holiday decorations, will parade along the waterfront on December 16, 2016.

A holiday tradition since 1994, the parade includes members of the St. Francis Yacht Club, Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Fleet, Golden Gate Yacht Club, PIER 39 Marina, and the Sea Scouts. The parade route will begin just off of PIER 39, proceeding west past Fisherman's Wharf, Fort Mason and the St. Francis Yacht Club, and will turn around off of Crissy Field to return along the waterfront.

Spectators can enjoy wonderful views from Aquatic Park, PIER 39, the Marina Green, and Crissy Field. In addition to offering a fantastic vantage point, restaurants along the Wharf will be featuring traditional holiday menus.

The Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Fleet will remain lit throughout the holiday season. The best viewing of this spectacular display can be found at the Sport Fishing Harbor along Jefferson Street between Jones and Taylor.

This event happens rain or shine but realistically if it's poor weather and/or choppy conditions you will see less boats in the parade.
